PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Carers

On Saturday night I had the privilege of attending the Reconciliation Presentation Mass (also held on Sunday morning), for our Year 3 students who are making their First Reconciliation this year. It was a Mass we celebrated with our Sister school, Holy Trinity, which made it all the more special. Our Year 3 students continue their journey this Friday, which sees them participate in their Retreat Day, again with Holy Trinity. Next Thursday, March 25, the children making their First Reconciliation receive the Sacrement for the first time.

Enrolment Period

Our enrolment period begins in a few weeks, in the second week of Term 2. It will run for 3 weeks. This is an enrolment period for all Catholic schools, and we will soon be hosting visits from Michael Lee, Principal at Mackillop College, Anna Masters, Principal at Merici College, and Brad Cooney, Principal at St Clare’s College. It will be a good experience for our Year 6 students to meet and consider, with their parents, the different types of high schools and colleges and what they can offer. Sts Peter and Paul will put on the website, very soon, the dates for our Information Evening and our Open Days.

Staff Learning

I am very proud of Tricia Drabsch (Mrs D), who has enrolled in an Occupational Therapy Degree. Tricia is one of our wonderful LSAs and is known to many of the students. Tricia’s units of study include Introduction to Occupational Therapy, Professional Orientation (Health), Concepts in Biology and Foundations of Anatomy and Physiology. I wish Tricia the very best in her studies and I look forward to her ongoing contributions to Sts Peter and Paul and Catholic education in general. Well done, Tricia.

Leadership Day

Friday next week sees the Year 6 students undertake the first of their Leadership Days. Our Year 6 students are undertaking four leadership days this year (1 per term) and it provides them all with an invaluable experience of leadership training, setting goals, developing skills and abilities, and enhancing emotional and physical wellbeing. My thanks to our wonderful Year 6 teachers, Paul Jenkins and Sarah Kennelly, for organising the days.

Playgroup

A reminder that Playgroup is on Friday next week, open for all mums and dads with children who are under school age. Please bring a friend – they do not need to be parents at Sts Peter and Paul; this is a service for the whole community.

Have a wonderful week with your families.

Best wishes
