Saints Peter and Paul Swimming Carnival Ribbons
A huge congratulations to all students who received ribbons at our morning assemblies for their stellar swimming efforts at our school carnival. Any parents who missed watching their 11 and 12 year old children receiving ribbons please accept my apology. I looked at the wrong dates on the calendar when informing you about when these were going to be handed out.
Well done to the following students who were our age champions:
Junior: Stella H, Cooper L and Lucas S
11 Years: Ava T, Zoe T and Nathan B
Senior: Greta B and Luqman O

Due to current COVID restrictions, we kindly ask all parents attending the carnival in any capacity to use the Saints Peter and Paul Check in Canberra App QR code on the day, which will be located near the recording table, (sign in and out sheets will also be found here if you do not have a smartphone) and observe the 1.5m social distancing measures currently in place.
On the day, children may wear a house colour t-shirt instead of their school sport shirt if they would like. (If you’re not sure what your child’s house colour is, please ask their teacher. The houses and colours they represent are; Red – Cooyal, Yellow – Bangalong, Green – Iraga and Blue – Talara.)
Children will need to apply sunscreen before coming to school and bring their hat and drink bottle with them to Eddison Park. If your child/ren would like to make posters and bring mascots to support their house, they are most welcome to. However, we kindly ask that no crepe paper, streamers or glitter be used when creating these.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NORMAL CANTEEN MENU WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THIS DAY, NOT A SPECIAL LUNCH AS WAS WRITTEN IN THE NOTE SENT OUT ON SZAPP. Please accept my apologies for this error.
We would appreciate the help of parents who are able to act as timekeepers, marshals and course markers. If you are able to help out, please complete the Parent Assistance section on SZapp (located in the ‘Feed’ section) no later than Tuesday 20th April. All parent volunteers will be meeting at Eddison Park near the bridge closest to our school, at approximately 9.10am. A big thank you to all the parents who have already submitted their intention to help. You will receive information in relation to this via email on Wednesday 21st April.
Holding this carnival enables us to select students to represent our school at the South/Weston Region Cross Country Carnival on Wednesday 2nd June. Students who are turning 8 and over this year may be considered for representative selection. Information in relation to parents/spectators attending the regional carnival will be shared with you when it becomes available to us.
We’re looking forward to a cracking day of running together to end the first week of Term Two.
