PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Term 3, the year is certainly flying by. On Monday we welcomed Mr Wigg into our community as well as a number of new students. This week we have a total of 9 new students who will start with us. I am sure you will join me in welcoming them to our school community.
I will be taking paternity leave for two weeks sometime in the near future as my wife and I are expecting our second child at any time. Mr Wigg will be Acting Principal in my absence.
You may notice some significant works were completed in the school over the holidays as apart of our Hall and Front office renovation. The hall has had extensive demolition works completed and the ceiling painted. The canteen and the area outside Music and Oshclub have also had a much needed refresh in preparation for work to continue in the next two weeks.
There may be some alternative entrances to the school and areas closed off in the coming weeks as these works continue. We will have signs and barricades to indicate new travel paths and areas that will be blocked off. As the works are mainly cosmetic, these areas should only be blocked for short periods of time. We will endeavour to write about this in the newsletter each week for your information.
STPP Yrs 4-6 Parent forum
Thank you to the number of parents who attended our forum in week 10 last term. If you were unable to make it, we spoke about a number of things including my own journey through single sex schooling, our learning environments, STEM plans, some research around single sex education and also some figures of students who have gone to a single sex environment and what years they are typically making this change. We heard from some past students who chose to stay on at Saints Peter and Paul until Year 6 and also heard from parents who have pondered this decision recently. I have included the link to our presentation below. If you would like to discuss any of the content please see myself or Mr Wigg at any time.
