Book Week Wasn’t last week fun?! I am still busy putting up all of the student’s beautiful work so more photos will follow! Once again, my heartfelt thank you to all parents and carers who helped with the amazing costumes. The sun was shining and it was wonderful to see so many parents come to watch our parade. We also completed lots of fabulous art based on the CBCA shortlisted books. 

Meerkat CBCA Book Week Performances

On Wednesday we had 2 fabulous performances by Meerkat Productions. K-2 watched Stellarphant (shortlisted/honour book picture book) and 3-6 watched a performance based on the novel The Detective’s Guide to Ocean Travel by Nicki Greenberg (shortlisted younger reader book). We loved the acting, singing and dancing and both shows!

Author Visit- Samantha Tidy

To round off our fabulous Book Week celebrations we were lucky enough to have local Canberran author and publisher Samantha Tidy (Mother of Reuben and Grace) visit Year 3/4. We learned about her fabulous books, what being a publisher is all about AND completed a STEM activity involving marshmallows and toothpicks! We are so grateful to have Samantha talk to us! 

Book Club issue 6 is available now. Orders close 9th September and then it will take a week for orders to be delivered to our school. Thank you for your support with assisting our school raise money to purchase new books for the Library! Remember to order via the LOOP app!
