PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Newsletter Week 10

Dear Parents and Carers

First Eucharist Celebration

Last weekend, students from Year 4 celebrated their First Eucharist at Holy Trinity Church, Curtin. The Masses were wonderful celebrations and mark a step in faith for our children and their families. My deep thanks and appreciation to Stephanie Burns, our excellent REC, and our equally excellent teachers, Paul Jenkins, Josh Geries and Sarah Walsh. My thanks too to Fr John Woods and the parish team, for their great support. Finally, I would also like to acknowledge Emily Capper, REC at Holy Trinity, who works very closely with Steph Burns. Parents may not realise that our children receive their Sacraments with students from Holy Trinity, which speaks to the deep connection the two schools have. This involves much in the way of collaboration and teamwork, between the two schools. Emily and Steph are a great team and serve both schools and the parish well.

Memorial Service – Queen Elizabeth

Yesterday, 3 parents and their children attended the memorial service, held at Parliament House, for Queen Elizabeth. My thanks to Amanda and Grace Basedow, Sarah and Lucy Agland and Richard and Evie Barrett. By all accounts, it was a lovely and meaningful service. There are photos of students who attended, from Catholic schools, in the online version of the Catholic Voice. From bishops to students - many mourn Queen at National Service - Catholic Voice

My thanks to the Basedow, Agland and Barrett families for their great support, and to all families for their expressions of interest.

Day 1 – Term 4

A reminder for all families that the first day of Term 4 is Monday, October 10. I look forward to seeing our returning families and students on the 10th.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the tireless and extremely hardworking staff of Sts Peter and Paul, for an excellent term. All staff contribute in multiple and varied ways to the running of the school and do an excellent job in providing a stimulating and safe educational environment. I wish all staff a very safe and relaxing break.

Have a wonderful holiday with your families.

Best wishes
