PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Last week, I joined our Year 6 students, and Katie McGregor, Luke Gubler and Sarah Kennelly, on our Year 6 camp. The camp was a great success and a lot of fun. My thanks to Katie, Luke and Sarah, for their great care of our students, and I would also like to thank and congratulate our Year 6 students, who were a pleasure to be with.
Canteen News
With the relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions, schools have been able to return to operational procedures that were once a part of normal life at school. We have found that with some procedures, we are unable to return immediately to procedures that were in place before the pandemic, instead we need to slow the pace of returning to normal operational procedures. These arrangements are in place to support the full transition to pre-COVID canteen operational procedures.
The following processes will be implemented at the canteen until further notice:
- Canteen is cashless. We are hoping to introduce cash again at the school and parents will be notified when cash sales begin at school.
- All lunch orders are required to be purchased via Qkr! App before 8.45am.
- Over the counter sales will continue at lunchtime for ice creams only. Instead of cash sales, I am asking parents to please use the voucher system. Purchase a “daily sales voucher” via Qkr! for your child to go to the canteen at lunchtime to purchase an ice cream. The voucher is valid for that day and the full value must be used at lunchtime.
Thank you for your support. Please contact me directly at school if you have any questions.
Pupil Free Day
This term, Catholic Education has granted all Catholic schools a pupil free day on Friday, December 16th. As per previous terms, this in recognition of staff shortages across the system, and is an effort in providing teachers with some make-up time of lost planning time.
Swimming Day
Next Friday, November 4th, we are holding a Swimming Fun Day, for students in Grades 2 – 6. We were unable to hold a swimming carnival in Term 1, due to COVID restrictions, at that time. With the warmer weather, and in moving a little closer towards the festive season, we would like to hold a fun day for the children, complete with an inflatable obstacle course and other games. My thanks to Sarah Kennelly for her excellent work and coordination of the day.
Class Lists 2023
As I wrote last week, we are beginning the process of compiling the class lists for 2023. It is an involved process, and one on which a number of factors are considered. If you have concerns over potential relationship or friendship dynamics, where your own child is concerned, please email me directly.
If your K-5 child will not be attending Sts Peter and Paul School in 2023, please email office.stpandp@cg.catholic.edu.au as a matter of urgency.
Have a wonderful week with your families.
Best wishes
