SPORTS NEWS

Sts Peter and Paul Athletics Carnival

Tomorrow sees our school’s Athletics Carnival taking place! Students from K-6 will be walking to the Woden Athletic Track from school by 9:15am, so please ensure that your child is present at school on time. All students will need to wear their sports uniform and runners. On the day, children may wear a house colour t-shirt instead of their school sport shirt if they would like. (If you’re not sure what your child’s house colour is, please ask their teacher. The houses and colours they represent are; Red – Cooyal, Yellow – Bangalong, Green – Iraga and Blue – Talara).

Children will need to apply sunscreen before coming to school and bring their hat and drink bottle with them to Woden Athletic Park. If your child/ren would like to make posters and bring mascots to support their house, they are most welcome to. However, we kindly ask that no crepe paper, streamers or glitter be used when creating these.

Please ensure that your child brings with them lots of food to keep them sustained throughout the day as Mrs Lauretta Raccosta will only be providing limited over the counter foods with cash.

South/Weston Region Cross Country Carnival Tuesday 6th June at Stromlo Forest Park, Opperman Avenue, Stromlo.

For those participating in the South/Weston Region Cross Country, this event will be happening next Tuesday (Week 7). Please ensure that your child arrives between 9:00am-9:30am at the latest, as students will complete a walkthrough of the course at 9:40am. They will need to be signed in with either Mr Luke Gubler or Miss Sarah Walsh, and once you are taking them home, they will need to be signed back out. Thank you for your assistance with this. The carnival will still go ahead if it is raining, so please keep an ear out on key radio stations for information as to its postponement.

ACT Cross Country Champions Wednesday 14th June at Stromlo Forest Park, Opperman Avenue, Stromlo.

Please note that it will be an extremely quick turnaround if your child has qualified for ACT Cross Country, and information in relation to this will come out via Compass. Thank you for your understanding with this!
