PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow our Year 6 students will take part in a retreat at Holy Trinity to complete their learning about the sacrament of Confirmation. The retreat is a great way for all students to come together, not just those who are being confirmed, and celebrate their learning. Our Year 5 students will take part in a Prayer Retreat Day at school and have input from teachers and each other around the different forms and types of prayer. Thanks to everyone involved in preparing our students for these events.
It is Canteen Week and tomorrow we will be celebrating our many volunteers who give up their time to help with any number of tasks in the day to day running of the school. From reading to volunteering in the Canteen, our school is blessed to have such an enthusiastic group of dedicated volunteers. Thank you!
Survey results
Earlier in the term, we conducted the School Improvement Survey in our community, with 59% of our families completing the survey. Thank you to the 86 families who took the opportunity to record their feedback about our school. Thank you too for your commendations and suggestions. Data from the survey will be used to inform our general and strategic planning and budgetary processes for 2020 and beyond. Please find attached the executive summary of the Parent Survey.
Afternoon Carline
Just a reminder to parents that carline duty finishes at 3:30 pm for teachers and they are often required for other meetings and planning after school. In the last couple of weeks, there have been many students who have been picked up well beyond this time. OSHclub has a short stay option where parents can enrol their kids into the afterschool program and only pay a small fee if they are picked up before 4 pm. This might be a great option if you struggle to make carline before 3:30. Thanks in advance for your understanding and assistance.
NAPLAN
Students in Years 3 and 5 will receive their NAPLAN reports in the next two weeks. If you would like to discuss the report further, please contact your child’s teacher.
New App for School communication
We have had a steady uptake of families switching over to the new communication app SZapp. The SZapp will be the one-stop-shop for school communication with an easy to use interface.
For the remainder of this term, content will be duplicated across both SZapp and Skoolbag platforms to aide in the switch. When signing up you will have the ability to choose what type of content you would like to receive as a push notification. We suggest that you enable push notifications for this app to make sure you don't miss any important events or information. SZapp will replace the SkoolBag app, and SkoolBag will not be used after the end of this term.
For more information about the SZapp, please see the following links. If you need any further information, please contact the school.

Hall Renovation Update
This week construction of the stage has finished. How good does it look?
Next week we can expect delivery of the storage frames on the sides of the hall. Also, the front office finishes are being constructed. Some of these are already up.
We are well on track for complete hand over of the project in Week 1 of Term 4.
A reminder that during the school holidays, the renovation will move into the front office and foyer areas. The front of the school will not be accessible during this time. All-access will be via the rear of the school.
Feedback - Before and After School Care
As some of you may be aware, the contract for an after and before school care provider is up this year. The current contract provider is OSH and they intend to tender again. We are therefore seeking feedback from the parent community to inform the process. Any contributions should be sent to the principal.’
Blessings and best wishes
