PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Last night students in Year 3 made the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. As we do with sacramental celebrations, our students received the Sacrament with students from Holy Trinity, Curtin. Reconciliation is one of two sacraments of healing, the other being the Sacrament of Last Rites. My thanks to all of our parents and families for their great support, and I would particularly like to thank our parents who hosted a home group. My thanks to our teachers, Paul Jenkins, Gayle Hunt and Sarah Walsh; to our REC, Amanda Basedow, and to Fr John Woods, for his great support. My thanks too to the staff and community of Holy Trinity, for their collaboration and partnership.
Enrolment Period
All Catholic schools have begun the formal enrolment period. Parents are encouraged to submit any applications for 2025 enrolments within the next three weeks. Sts Peter and Paul is holding 2 more Open Days, on Tuesday, May 14th and 21st, all from 9am – 11.30am. I look forward to welcoming any new and continuing parents to our Open Days.
Mothers’ Day
This Friday, on May 10th, we celebrate and honour all of the mums in the school, with a Mothers’ Day Morning Tea, from 7.45am on the school blacktop. A variety of pastries and coffee will be available for all of our mums, and I would like to invite all mothers and significant female family members to the Morning Tea. Kindergarten is holding an assembly that celebrates the gifts of mothers at 9.15am, to which all families are invited. We are also holding a Mothers’ Day stall, and all children will have the opportunity to buy a Mothers’ Day present for their mums. Vouchers will be used to 'buy' a gift on the day and these are now available to purchase via Qkr! Purchase of vouchers will close at 12pm, Thursday, 9th May, so please ensure you order prior to the cut-off time. Children will be given their voucher/s by their class teacher on Friday to use at the stall. The cost is $7 per present. My thanks to the Katherine Jones and the Community Council for their excellent work in enabling this to happen, and to the kindergarten teachers and students for their great work in preparing the assembly.
Assembly
A reminder that this week’s Awards Assembly will not be held on Thursday afternoon. It will be held Friday morning at morning assembly.
Confirmation Information Night
A reminder to our parents of Year 6 students who are making their Confirmation this year, that there is an Information Night next Tuesday at 6pm, via Teams. Parents will receive an email with a link in the email. Please attend the meeting if your son or daughter is making his or her Confirmation, as the meeting explains the details of the evening and the process involved, in the reception of the Sacrament.
Have a wonderful week with your families.
Best wishes
Cameron Johns
Principal
