PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Royal Visit
On Monday, Sts Peter and Paul were fortunate enough to visit Fairburn base, with a host of other schools, and welcome the King and Queen to Australia. While we were not close enough to greet them in anyway, it was a remarkable experience and one that was good to have.

Swimming Lessons
Swimming Lessons are underway this week for Grades 1 – 3, at the Stromlo Leisure Centre. The children are participating enthusiastically and enjoying the lessons. My thanks to Sarah Kennelly and all K–3 teachers for their support.
Boorowa Carnival
This Friday, we are taking approximately 60 children to the Boorowa Touch Football and Netball Carnival. It promises to be an excellent day and will be a very good opportunity for the children. My thanks to Luke Gubler for coordinating our involvement, and to the staff and parents attending on the day.
Socktober
Friday next week sees our fundraising day, ‘Socktober’, take place. Children are invited to wear ‘crazy socks’ to school and bring a gold coin to school, all in an effort to raise money for St Vincent de Paul society. My thanks to our acting Religious Education Coordinator, Sarah Walsh, for organising our involvement.
Year 1 Retreat
Next Thursday our Year 1 students are having a ‘mini retreat’ at school, led by our Youth Minister Olivia Green. It will be a great day for the children and be a good experience that deepens and builds upon many of the concepts covered in the students RE lessons this year. My thanks to Olivia and to the Year 1 teachers for their support.
Assembly Times
For the remainder of this Term, and into next year, Sts Peter and Paul are trialing the new assembly time of 2.30pm. The assembly will still take place in the hall.
Two-Day Catholic Leaders’ Meeting
I am away tomorrow and Friday at a two-day meeting with all principals of Catholic schools and senior Catholic Education staff. Among other speakers, Barbara Croucher, Director of Catholic Education in Scotland, will be addressing the gathering.
Have a wonderful week with your families.
Best wishes
Cameron Johns
Principal
