A WORD FROM OUR SCHOOL LEADERS
On Monday, the 21st of October eight students were selected to go welcome the King to Canberra. First we had to go on a bus. When we arrived at the airport we had to leave our bags on the bus (for security reasons) and then we went into an aircraft hangar to eat lunch. Once we were finished, we and students from a few other schools went onto a runway to watch the King land. After he landed there was a Welcome to the Country and a smoking ceremony for the King. Afterwards he went into a black car after waving us goodbye (the car had a crown emoji number plate) then they drove away with a few other cars. We were escorted back inside the aircraft hanger to go and head to the bus. Before we left we got gift bags with colouring books, flags, keychains and more! When we arrived back at school we were picked up and went home.
It was really fun and everyone was excited to see him!
