PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Carers

School Musical

The many weeks and months of preparation and practice are coming to fruition this week, as our wonderful Years 5 & 6 students are performing our excellent 2025 production, Dare to Dream’. We had the first of our daytime matinee performances today, with our students performing in front of the whole school and in front of a large cohort of parents and grandparents. It was a wonderful performance and the range of abilities of the students is remarkable. Our second matinee is tomorrow, with our evening performances on Thursday and Friday nights. My thanks to our wonderful students for their hard work and dedication, and the equally talented hard-working staff, especially our Years 5 & 6 teachers, with Talia Wagner and Fron Garrett-Rumba also providing particular assistance. Tickets are still available via these links:

Limited snacks will be available for sale, for $2, at the night performances.

Friendship Four and Class Lists – 2026

Sts Peter and Paul have been preparing for some time for next year. Among the needs that need to be met are class arrangements for 2026. Last Friday, a Google form was emailed to parents, asking them to name four friends that their son or daughter would like to have in his or her class, in 2026. The school can guarantee at least one of the four friends listed. Please have the form returned by Wednesday, November 19th.  In addition, if any parents have concerns over peer relationships, involving their child or children, please email me directly with your requests. In order to adequately prepare the class lists, I ask that all parents email me by Friday Week 5, which is Friday, November 14th. Thank you for your support.

Kindergarten 2026: Information Night and Orientation Days

A reminder for all parents that the Information Night for 2026 Kindergarten students is taking place next Monday evening, November 10th, at 6pm. The first of two orientation days is also taking place that day, from 9.30am – 12pm. The second Orientation Day for 2026 Kindergarten students is taking place on Tuesday October 18th, from 9.30am – 12pm.

Remembrance Day Liturgy

Next Tuesday, the 11th of November, is Remembrance Day. As we do each year, Sts Peter and Paul is holding a prayer liturgy on Tuesday, at 10.40am. Parents are warmly invited to attend, if they are able to do so. The liturgy is being led by our Youth Ministry Team, which is made up of students from Years 5 and 6. My thanks to our wonderful students, and to Julia Norgrove, our Youth Minister, and to Andrea McQuirk, our Religious Education Coordinator.

House Cup

Starting in a couple of weeks, on a Friday at lunch and recess, we are holding the annual House Cup competition, which runs every Friday until the end of the term. It sees the four houses compete in a variety of competitions, for example, Egg and Spoon Races. The House who has compiled the greatest number of points by the end of the term earns the right to hold the House Cup trophy aloft and have their House name inscribed as 2025 champions. It is a lot of fun and a good way to end the term and year. My thanks to Luke Gubler for coordinating the competition.

Have a wonderful week with your families.

Best wishes

Cameron Johns
