COOL KIDS / R U OK DAY
Cool Kids
The first sessions of cool kids is due to begin next Tuesday, in Week 9. A parent workbook will also be sent home to those families with children participating, with information and activities that you can use to help support your children through the program.
R U OK DAY
Tomorrow, Thursday 10th of September is ‘R U OK Day’. It is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life's ups and downs.
This year's message is 'There's more to say after R U OK?'
This year especially, it is important to touch base with family and friends and ask them how they are going and if they need any support. There are many people struggling with the challenges that 2020 has brought, especially those facing that challenge of lockdown.
R U OK? inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life.
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
- Ask R U OK?
- Listen
- Encourage action
- Check in
