SPORTS NEWS
Saints Peter and Paul Cross Country Carnival this Friday 25th September
The big races are only 2 days away and the kids are getting excited!!! Everyone has had at least one opportunity to walk the course around the school to familiarise themselves with it. We are encouraging all students to wear their house colour shirt with their sport uniform on Friday. If you would like your child to have the special canteen lunch that Mrs R is preparing, please see Qkr. The rough distances for each age group are included below.
5, 6 and 7 years (1 shorter lap)
8 years 1000m (1 big lap)
9 and 10 years 1500m/200m (2 big laps)
11 and 12 years 3000m (3 laps)
Unfortunately due to current restrictions in place we will be unable to have any parents in attendance.
Weather permitting, races will be starting at 9.25am. As the students will be running around the church for part of the course, we're kindly asking that the carpark and Boake Place remain clear of traffic if at all possible from 9.15am until 11am. Thank you so much for your assistance with this.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about our cross country carnival. mary.desmet@cg.catholic.edu.au
Hockey Clinics last session tomorrow (Thursday 24th September)
Thank you to Hockey ACT for providing our students with this sporting experience over the last 4 weeks.
Gymnastics Clinics next term
All students in Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two will be participating in some gymnastics sessions run by the Woden Valley Gymnastics Club in Term 4. We are able to provide these sessions to these students as a result of Sporting Schools Plus funding that we received earlier in the year. More information about which day these sessions will be running on can be found here in the coming weeks.
