PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Science Day
Last Friday we celebrated our annual Science Day. The children enjoyed coming to school dressed as a scientist and participating in the day’s activities. Our students in Years 5 and 6, demonstrating again some excellent leadership, led the science activities for the other grades and did a magnificent job. My thanks to Paul Jenkins for coordinating the day and to all staff for their great support.

Confirmation
Last night and tonight we celebrate and acknowledge the students in Year 6 who made a big step forward in their faith. The following children received the Sacrament of Confirmation last night: Luke Mc and Alex S. Tonight, these children will celebrate Confirmation: Eloise H, Claire N, Heidi G, Sophia G., Imogen H and Emily Bo. Congratulations to all our students who, over the last two weeks, have taken this bold step in faith. My thanks, too, to Fr John Woods, Stephanie Burns, Paul Jenkins, Melissa Neit, Emma D’Ambrosio and Katie Birch for their support of the children. Finally, my thanks to all parents, for their foundations and work in preparing the children, and to all Home Groups leaders for their generosity of spirit and willingness to serve.
Mission Fete Day
On Thursday, we are holding our annual Mission Fete day, again organised and led by the students in Years 5/6. All children in the school are invited to participate in a student led and student created fete day. All money raised goes to Catholic Missions and will go a long way to making many people’s lives better. Again, my thanks to our students and teachers in Years 5/6 for their great leadership.
Cross Country
Finishing the term on a very positive note, we are holding our Cross Country Carnival, for K – 6 students, on Friday. It is COVID-19 restricted, in that it is not taking place in a public park or any public spaces. The course includes the oval and blue court, and for the older children, the children will run around the immediate block, including the Church opposite the school. They are not going further than Malkara School. It will be a great opportunity for the children and be an enjoyable way to finish the school term. My thanks to Mary de Smet for her great work in organising the carnival.
As I write this newsletter, we are coming to an end of the Third Term and the first time this year that we have completed a straight run of 10 weeks of learning. I would like to thank the staff for their unwavering commitment to the children and their tireless work. My thanks to all parents, for their great support of the school and for their good wishes and encouragement. Finally, I would like to thank the children, for their hard work, their great learning, their community building work and for their sense of humour. Sts Peter and Paul is a beautiful school and it is a privilege to work here.
I hope all families find some time to unwind and relax over the coming holidays and I look forward to seeing all students return to school on October 12.
Best wishes
Cameron Johns
Principal
