Dear Parents,
On Friday we celebrated our Feast Day in style with a number of events and activities. As I mentioned last week on the 29th of June each year the Church celebrates the feast day of Sts. Peter & Paul. There is evidence of this solemnity being celebrated 1200 years ago.
To honour these Saints many classes spent the morning creating decorative prayer cloths in the classrooms and spent some time learning about these important individuals who were instrumental in the establishment of the Church. The whole school celebrated Mass at 12 pm in the church which was presided over by Fr Beath in Fr John's absence. The students then engaged in a range of enriching fun activities spread across the school. Thank you to our teachers for organising these activities and also Mrs Burns for her coordination of the day. Please see pictures attached.
STPP Yrs 4-6 Parent forum on Tonight in the staffroom.
Mr Wigg and I will be hosting a forum tonight at 6 pm to discuss what STPP has to offer to students beyond Year 3. We will dispell some myths, speak about the benefits of co-educational learning and our plans for the future, particularly in the STEM space. some parents who have reflected upon this decision recently will attend and share their thoughts. Please register so I can ensure there will be a seat https://forms.gle/Zh5Qr8MgSuQL7AYG8
Enrolment Period
Even though the official enrolment period is over we are still enrolling students in many grades for next term and also next year. Next term we will be welcoming a number of new families to the school. Many of these parents work at ACT Health or the Health Department in Woden. Being so close offers these parents a unique opportunity to be apart of the school community as it is a short drive or walk to or from work to participate and volunteer in community events, assemblies or canteen. Our current enrolment message is 'It is not too late to book a tour! Contact our office to arrange a time! 62811932 or Office.Stpandp@cg.catholic.edu.au.'
Please continue to spread the word about our school from interviews with families during the enrolment period your testimonials to parents are the number one influencing factor for parents choosing our school!
Cross Country
One of our Kinder students Alice A competed in the ACT Cross Country Championships at Stromlo on Saturday. She was incredible and as a result of a great run, she is the ACT Under 6 Cross Country Champion. Congratulations Alice!
We draw this term to a close this week and reflecting back upon the term, it has been a very busy one. Looking back through our Facebook feed, we see the multitude of events and deep learning that has taken place in classrooms, all of which have made this term so rich.
If you are travelling for the holidays please travel safely.
Blessings and best wishes

Saints Peter and Paul Feast Day
Last Friday, we celebrated the Feast Day of our Patrons, Peter and Paul the Apostles. Fr Greg Beath celebrated Mass with us at 12pm, and in the afternoon, the students were given a choice of a variety of activities to enjoy together as a fun way to celebrate our school and our community. Thank you to staff for the contributions they made to this wonderful day.
Sunday Gospel: Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year C
Today’s Gospel passage immediately follows the passage used last week that spelt out the difficulties of discipleship. Having explained how hard it is to be a disciple, Jesus now sends his followers out to ‘have a go’ at being a disciple. Jesus tells the disciples to travel lightly, accept hospitality where it is offered, and be gracious in eating what you are given. The disciples are to trust that they will find the resources for their mission.
Jesus also adds a warning that disciples will not always be well received. By the time of the Gospel, Christians had begun to experience persecution from Rome and some have been martyred for their faith.
