Dear Parents and Carers
School Musical
Last Thursday day and night, and again on Friday night, the students in Years 5 & 6 performed the musical ‘Matilda Jr’. It was an amazing success. Our students performed magnificently and were a sight to behold. I was very proud of the boys and girls and their level of application, performance, focus and commitment. We had two full nights and I think all who attended were most impressed. Of course, performances such as these do not happen by accident: my deep thanks to Jessica Gowing, Josh Gereis, Fron Garrett-Rumba, Katie McGregor and Luke Gubler for their many hours of practice and devotion. I would also like to thank one of our dads, Daniel Muller, who provided and directed the light and sound, which made an extraordinary difference to the overall production. Again, an amazing display of generosity and selflessness. Finally, my thanks to all staff for their support and encouragement, and to the many people who have helped in many and varied ways. It was truly a team effort. See our Facebook page for photos.
Class Lists – 2024
Our teachers have begun the task of preparing the class lists for 2024. This is a long and detailed process, with a number of factors being considered. Students will have an opportunity to nominate 3 people with whom they would like to be placed next year. The school guarantees only 1 friend, although students may be placed with two or all of their choices. If any parents have concerns about their child’s classmates for 2024, and if you would like the school to try to ensure that your child is not placed with a particular student, please email me directly. The school is unable to entertain any requests for particular teachers. Thank you for your support.
Canteen Volunteers’ Morning Tea
This Friday, at 1pm, we are hosting a ‘thank you’ afternoon tea for all of our wonderful canteen volunteers, this year. My thanks to Lauretta Raccosta for organising this afternoon tea.
Andrew Fuller
A reminder that on Tuesday November 14th at 6pm, our Community Council is hosting a talk by Andrew Fuller, renowned child psychologist, for all of our parents. This will be a wonderful opportunity for all of our parents. Please see the flyer in this newsletter to purchase tickets and come along for an excellent evening.
School Hours
A reminder please that the hours of school supervision are from 8.30am – 3.30pm. Please ensure that your children are not here before 8.30am, as we are unable to provide a duty of care. Please ensure that your children are picked up by 3.30pm. Before and after school care is available through OSHClub, which we are fortunate to have at our school. Thank you for your support.
Remembrance Day
This Friday, Sts Peter and Paul is holding a Remembrance Day prayer service at 10.45am, culminating at 11am with a minute’s silence. My thanks to our Year 5 teachers, for coordinating our liturgy.
Have a wonderful week with your families.
Best wishes

Sunday Gospel: Matthew 25:1-13, 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A
Look, the bridegroom comes. Go out to meet him.
Gospel Reflection by Dianne Bergant
The early Christians thought that all their questions about death had been answered with the resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, when loyal Christians began to die, not only did their old questions come back, but also they were plagued with new and difficult ones. Was it possible that those loyal Christians had not been loyal after all? Or worse, were the promises made by Jesus empty promises? No! Paul assures us. It is all true. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again, and all the faithful will be joined with him. How it will happen, we do not know. When it will happen, we do not know. That it will happen, we are sure.
The wisdom that we have culled from life becomes the treasury from which we draw the prudence and insight needed to negotiate life’s paradoxes. It throws light on our strengths and on our weaknesses; it enables us to discern what is important and what is not; it directs us to bring extra oil in our lamps. Life and the wisdom that we have acquired through it, have taught us that we can indeed trust the promises of God. They have been fulfilled in the past, and wisdom assures us that they will be fulfilled in the future. It is wisdom that cautions us to be vigilant, to be ready to adjust our plans. It is wisdom that prepares us for the night watches of life. It is wisdom that instructs us to be ready at all times.
Blessings for the week ahead,

Another great week of cooking and gardening.
Years 5 and 6 continue to learn about healthy eating and using produce from our garden.
The garden club weeded another bed to get it ready for tomatoes. Our mint is going crazy and strawberries are doing fine.
Garden club is on every Friday lunch. All new gardeners are welcome.
