Dear Parents and Carers
“I ask all educational institutions to inaugurate a season that speaks to the hearts of the new generations, recomposing knowledge and meaning, competence and responsibility, faith and life.”
- Pope Leo XIV
In the coming days, the Vatican will release a document that celebrates and marks the 60 years since the Vatican II document Gravissimum Educationis (Catholic Education) was released. The current Pope’s quote, above, speaks to the need to speak to the current reality and situation that students find themselves in, and to find new ways to communicate the goodness, beauty and truth that is the kernel and core of Catholic education. The Pope will also name the Church’s newest Doctor of the Church, St John Henry Newman, as the co-patron of Catholic Education. The other co-patron of Catholic education is St Thomas Aquinas, the great thirteenth-century theologian.
School Musical
The school is currently in a state of some excitement, as the school musical is only a week away. There are two matinee performances, next Wednesday and Thursday, as well as two evening performances, on Thursday and Friday nights. It promises to be a wonderful series of performances by our senior students. Tickets are available through via the following links:

Friendship Four and Class Lists – 2026
Although still very early in the term, Sts Peter and Paul have been preparing for some time for next year. Among the needs that need to be met are class arrangements for 2026. This Friday, a Google form will be emailed to parents, asking them to name four friends that their son or daughter would like to have in his or her class, in 2026. The school can guarantee at least one of the four friends listed. Please have the form returned by Wednesday, November 19th. In addition, if any parents have concerns over peer relationships, involving their child or children, please email me directly with your requests. In order to adequately prepare the class lists, I ask that all parents email me by Friday Week 5, which is Friday, November 14th. Thank you for your support.
Kindergarten 2026: Information Night and Orientation Days
A reminder for all parents that the Information Night for 2026 Kindergarten students is taking place on Monday evening, November 10th, at 6pm. The first of two orientation days is also taking place that day, from 9.30am – 12pm. The second Orientation Day for 2026 Kindergarten students is taking place on Tuesday November 18th, from 9.30am – 12pm.
Have a wonderful week with your families.
Best wishes

Parish Mass
Please see the flyer below about the upcoming Parish Mass celebration on 23rd November at 5:30pm.
This is a wonderful time to gather as a school and parish community to celebrate our faith and connect as a shared community. As there are no combined events in term 4, this will be our chance to come together as a parish and reconnect, share a meal, and celebrate the spirit of our community. We hope to see you there!
Class Masses
This week we celebrated a Liturgy with Year 2 about the wonders of God’s creation. This experience allowed students to connect their classroom learning about stewardship with a shared opportunity to pray and celebrate as a community.

All Souls Day - Jesus Raises a Widow’s Son Luke 7: 11-17
In this month we make time to remember those who have died. We pray for those whom we have loved in life on earth. We pray for those who have loved us. We also remember those who have no one to remember them. I am thinking of a couple of people in particular as I mark this feast, one a friend and one a family member, both are now in God’s kind keeping until the day of resurrection. I miss them.
This is also a good opportunity to teach children about our Christian confidence in death as the transition to the fullness of life. Children learn most easily with experience. To take children to the graves of friends and family is a sure and certain way to overcome their secular Halloween fears about a cemetery as a spooky place by teaching them about the graveyard as a place of Christian hope. You might teach your children this simple and traditional prayer: Eternal rest grant to them/him/ her/ O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them/ him/ her. May they/ he/ she rest in peace. Amen

Dear Parents and Carers,
We warmly invite you and your family to join us for our Children’s Family Mass on
Saturday, 23rd November at 5:30pm
Transfiguration Parish, 3 Strangways Street Curtin
This special celebration welcomes all families in our school and parish community — especially those whose children have received Sacraments this year. Together, we’ll give thanks for the many blessings we’ve shared and the ways our children continue to grow in faith.
After Mass, stay and enjoy a family BBQ in the parish grounds! It’s a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, share a meal, and celebrate the spirit of our community.
Bring your smiles, your families, and your enthusiasm, everyone is welcome!
We can’t wait to see you there!

Day for Daniel – Friday 31st October- (Friday Week 3)
This Friday, 31st October, our school community will be taking part in Day for Daniel, Australia’s largest child safety awareness and education day. This important event encourages all of us to reflect on the importance of keeping children safe, helping them to recognise, react, and report unsafe situations.
Throughout the day, students will take part in a range of educational activities provided by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, designed to teach them practical strategies to stay safe in both online and offline environments. These age-appropriate lessons empower children with the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices.
On this day students are invited to wear something red—an accessory or item of clothing—to show their support and help raise awareness for this important cause.
We are also fundraising online to support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s vital work in child safety education. Any donation is appreciated and will make a difference!
Donations can be made via our school fundraising page here:
https://d4d2025.danielmorcombe.com.au/sts-peter-and-paul-primary-school
Together, we can help make a real difference in promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children.
